Installing a New 350cc/295head
Can someone tell me what to expect from a new mci 350cc engine with a 295 head and 8 to 1 gears? Questions I have are, without a govener what rpm's will I see and what would safe rpm's be? Does anyone have a known speed possible, with the change?
Are blown head gaskets a problem? Not looking to be a speed king just want to touch 30mph. Any information about this combination of toys would be appreciated. Thanks, SE GA Dawg 2008 TXTG 5" lift kit 22 x 10 x 12 tires Rear seat 80" roof |

The engine is still limited by a rev limiter in the ignition. The 295 head will give it more umph. It's a seat of the pants thing. I don't have a tach, so I can't help with rpm's. I have stock gears and 22's and on a good day with just me in the cart it will hit 30 wide open.Barley just barley on flat ground. Head gaskets have not been an issue. I've never blown one yet. |

Re: Installing a New 350cc/295head
Thanks for the info, just what I needed to hear. I used the old motor to defray the cost of the new one(traded-in). I also swapped the rear end out for high speed (8:1) gears. Since I run on flat ground and city streets I didn't think a HS gear would be a problem.
Thanks again. SE GA Dawg |

Did you get the new MCI motor? Is the exhaust manifold aluminum? Or is it cast and bolted on?
If it is the older style, you won't have a problem. The MCI model didn't work for me. Either the pistons hit the head, or the valves hit the piston. |

this would be the first MCI/old style head swap that i know of, i'm not saying it can't be done but i can't see enough payoff for the amount machining and labor involved. |

Will be using the head off my existing 2008 mci 295 engine for the new mci 350cc engine.
