Default drive clutch question

has anyone had the plastic weights fall out of their clutch.its happened to me twice now.any ideas why this happens?

they are in what i believe is the comet 94c clutch.i was wondering if maybe my rpm gets to high at times ive had it to around 3400.the clutch is 1 1/2 years old lots of pounding

well 3,400 R's is not to much, the 94c was never a very good clutch i my opinion! they can't take to much dirt. step up to a 780

Just a guess- does the sliding sheave (inner-on the outside 1/2) bind, it should slide free?

do you agree Dooms that the 94 duster clutch is better matched to a snowmobile setup with a cleaner environment.

it opens and closes fine. it has blown the cover off once and shot them through the cover once.otherwise it seems to open to far and 1 or more of the weights get jammed

i looked at the 780 on sponser site.ive got an 82 244cc.any other model you know of that will work?

Yes it is,

Now this clutch has come apart and so far you have been lucky that it hasn't taken out other parts or fuel lines or god forbid a chunk of you.
I think you are at a spot that requires you to spend some money on a new clutch, belt and the time to check all alignment, spacing, correct belt, correct
Calibration (spring, pucks) and motor mounts and snubber.

when i bought it last summer i was told it was the new replacement for original.it has worked fine till my driven started to crap out. the original clutch did blow up into a bunch of pieces but didnt get nothing on the way out lucky i guess. did ezgo make thier own or were they all made by comet
