Default engine missing after warming up

I just installed a new engine (295CC ez go). when I run the engine it seems to run OK, but after running it for 5 to 10 minutes it starts missing like it's running out of gas or something & it also sounds like it's trying to backfire a little. Any ideas on how to fix would be greatly appreciated!!!

if you have the factory engine with factory carb, make sure you mixed the air to fuel ration right, if its a 2 cycle.
did you make up some new fuel recently?
did you adjust any air/fuel needles on the carb?

Hi TB,
When you upgraded the engine did you also get a new muffler, ignitor box and some wire harnesses?
What year cart are you putting this in?

yes it came with all f those mentioned, muffler, ignitor, and wiring harness. i installed everything according to the instructions... i'm installing in a 1997. i spoke with a mechanic on the phone & he thought it might be choke related. but that linkage looks good to me..

As long as the choke doesn't close during operation I can't see the difference it would make. But, that's beside the point. It sounds fuel related and I can't imagine valves out of adjustment yet.
I did the same thing you did and mine runs like a top. Did you replace the fuel filter? If not, replace it. Be sure your fuel line from the tank to the pump is good. Look for air leaks in fuel and the vacuum line. Be sure your fuel cap vent is clear. Check the hose/pickup in fuel tank for trash.
My kit came with a new fuel pump. I didn't use mine. Check the pump for correct hookup and operation. Are you using the stock air filter housing? new airfilter? Try those things (what you can) and let us know...We'll be here.

I did not replace the fuel filter during the engine swap, but I did change out all filters (oil, air, & gas) right after I bought the cart (a couple of months ago). I blew the air filter out real well before reinstalling. I'm using a stock air filter & assembly. The hose that runs from the lower engine to the air filter housing has some cracks where it joins the air filter housing, could that be the problem? I'll fix that & check the lines , etc that you listed. Yes, a new fuel pump came with the engine & I did change it out.

Thanks again, and have a good one!!!
