engine rotation
Morning; As a newbe, I'm asking my first dumb question. I have a pile of parts, that will someday be a cart. The engine is a Robbin 295cc 4 cycle twin.
As this pile of parts has no wiring I have searched to find the direction of rotation for this engine. I have an engine manual, but nowhere does it say which way it turns. Does anyone have an answer ???? |

Re: engine rotation
Facing the crankshaft PTO side, it rotates in a counterclockwise direction.

Re: engine rotation
Thank you, but I've already copied them. As I said it was a pile of parts, with NO wiring. It will be an interesting project. I don't know if the engine will start. I do now the starter will turn it over, I just didn't know which way it needed to turn.

Re: engine rotation
Do you know what year the cart is? The engine may need to be rebuilt if it's too old. Just a thought before you start putting it all back together...

Re: engine rotation
As I said, it was a pile of parts. The frame is an early 90's workhorse, rear coils, it had been cut up. now welded back together. The front cowl is from a Yamaha g16 Rear body is club car. the front axle has been buchered into a homemade 4" lift, that will need replacing. I don't need a golf cart, just want one. Its my semiretirement project.
I think the motor will be OK. I had intended to rebuild it, but after adjusting the valves to .004 I have good compression. The carb was full of crud, its sitting in cleaner now. I hope to have it usable by spring, but its not set in stone. gary |
