EZ GO Textron
I have a EZ GO TEXTRON gas cart. The serial # is 780524 T56435. Can any one tell me what year it is? How many H.P. is the motor? What the availability would be for a overhaul kit for the motor? I know the motor needs some work it ony has 90 psi compression. Thanks Tom

Re: EZ GO Textron
We can probably figure it out. The serial number doesn't have the year coded in it unless it's pretty old. The newer models have a set of numbers in the passenger glove box. Pictures would definitely help to ID the cart. Other than that, I have to ask questions. Is it a 2 cycle? Is the body metal or plastic? 3 or 4 wheels? What does the motor name plate say?
See if you can't post a picture. Welcome to BGW. |

Yes - The serial number doesn't ring a bell for me either. Can you post a picture?

Re: EZ GO Textron
Thanks for the reply, the cart has 4 wheels and is a 2 cycle. It also has a metal body. I will try to post pictures this weekend. Thanks Tom

Re: EZ GO Textron
That is a Marathon body they were made '76-93. that is almost all custom. They had no diamond plate, the roof supports are not standard nor is many other things. Nice looking cart. The serial pobably means a 78 model...that's a guess.
There's more info in here in "ezgo gas tech" sub forum on the home page. I'll see what I can find on the motor size and HP. |

Re: EZ GO Textron
I didn't find out much. EZ GO has a 2PG and 3PG 2 cycle engines, 3PG being the newer.
Parts are still available along with complete cylinder kits. Just a matter of ID'ing that motor. There is usually a nameplate on the motor or a stamp on the lower portion of the crankcase. I couldn't find any more specs than that. Someone here knows... Here's where our ezgo stuff ishttp://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-gas-tech/ |

Re: EZ GO Textron
Nice Marathon, real nice.
Looking at the front end I would guess on the pre-1988 because it doesn't have the plastic nose cone. Where is the spark plug? If it is in the side then it is a 2pg and could be anywhere from 1976 - 1988. Could you take a clear picture of the serial # plate. I don't doubt your numbers that you posted but they don't make any sense. |
