hello all - i have just completed the top end rebuild using the instructions in the tech section THANKS the info made it a simple job!

Questions is.... now i have it back together, the new piston seems tight. and the startetr is not turning the engine ... does the new piston and rings need to seat in or is this normal? i can turn the fly wheel with my hands, but seems to tight. any suggestions? thanks for you time.

Are you sure you got the rings into their grooves. Sounds like you have a ring dragging. That's a 2 cycle and you should be able to turn the motor over easily by hand. And slowly turn it past the compression stroke. If you can do this, so can the starter. Providing the starter is working correctly and battery is charged. Hope this helps.
