Transaxle Ques??
Well i finally got the big block running and everything going good. The problem i'm having is the transaxle... I'm far FAR from knwoledgable of how to adjust things and that is why i'm on this site....
95 Ezgo with 20hp Honda with comet 780 clutch ....CPP carrier/swingarm... when i shift into gears while on the jackstands the rearend runs grrrreat and with my foot on the wheel and or holding the brake it is almst impossible to keep from spinning...... The issue is that when on the ground it will not move at all...... So here is my question.... what needs adjusted to make things work 1. The shifter pivot arm on the transaxle needs adjusted? 2. Motor needs to be slid forward more? 3. or some magic answer from the experts I will be away from the CPU all day tomm at a Highschool working so i will be slow to get back to any advice given... Thanks for ya anything anyone has for advice.... |

Re: Transaxle Ques??
It sounds like the drive belt may be TOO TIGHT? Post pic of pushing the deflection on the belt to show how loose or tight it is. when the motor is off you should be able to put a hand on each pulley and hold the rear still turn the front(drive) clutch by slipping the belt.. hope this helps?

Re: Transaxle Ques??
I cant get my cart to move, when I put it in Forward and hit the gas, it just sits in one place. I turned off the engine, removed the seat, put it in forward gear, I then reached down and turn the rear clutch by hand, the golf cart should slowly creep forward right? it does'nt I am able to hold the golf cart in place, its like the inside of the gear box is slipping, this is not a clutch or belt issue (at least I dont think so) could it be a low rear end fluid level problem? Will lox fluild levels cause a rear end to slip? Or is the rear end just brken inside?

Re: Transaxle Ques??
I have seen many posts about brake drums stripping out. Sounds like this is what happened to yours...

Re: Transaxle Ques??
You are absolutely correct. That was the problem. Thank you guys so much. I got a 1997 EZ Go with a BIG BLOCK 23 HP Briggs with a Comet clutch that creates huge amounts of low end torque. To much torque, and it stripped the wheel hub.

Re: Transaxle Ques??
The hubs will hold if they are torqued properly.
