hi guy's,my son and i are new to this but already having fun,we just bought a 89 ez go marathon 2 stroke that is going to be a winter project to do togethor and will be used to tow his junior dragster around the race track.the cart runs quite well but seems to be a little lazy on take off,top speed is plenty fast enough for what we need it to do,i read on here about shorter drive belts helping with this situation,it now has a dayco 27077-go2 belt on it.is that already the short one and if so could it just be worn out? it looks as if it has seen better days.with the rear body section off so i could see the clutch,i noticed that on take off the belt almost immediately would climb down the driven clutch, could it maybe need a different spring in the driven clutch????????????any help would be appreciated, thanks guy's

You can send your driven clutch to Tom at Cart Parts Plus and have him machine it a bit.

If the belt looks worn that would be the cheapest place to start. I couldn't find any info on sizes for that Dayco # so I couldn't tell you if it is a direct replacement or something someone just got close. Try a new belt and go from there.
