Default do belts make a difference?

hey my 86 244cc gasser is a touch slower than i would like but its running great. has any one put a shorter belt to gain power? or somthing simillar to this. it would be a quick mod ,just wondering if anyone has tried thanks.

Yes they make a difference. Probably not what your after though. The shorter belt give you a lower ratio for starting out and thereby more torque but will sacrifice a little top end speed.

Have you adj the gov yet?
