coil??
My plugs are firing but not enough to crank the engine. I believe it's my coil as I have changed the plugs and checked all the wiring. They are firing in an erratic pattern and not very strong. How do I test the coil to see if that's my problem? Is there an ohm test that can be done and which terminals do I hold the tester to if so?

Re: coil??
That doesn't sound good. The plugs are supposed to fire at the same time, at each revolution of the motor. There is a test procedure in the manuals. They are in the ezgo gas tech sub forum on the home page. It will take you to a jacobsen site where you can download the service manual
Try thishttp://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-gas-tech/ Look at "need a manual diagram or ID..." That's the easiest way. http://products.jacobsen.com/img/manuals/605586.pdf This is what you need. If you need anything, we're here. |

Re: coil??
I ran into the same thing on my wife's 96 txt.I replaced the voltage regulator,as the original problem was not charging, and still had the same results until I put an ignitor on.The spark I was getting was weak(orange),and erratic.I also replaced the coil because the ohm test that the manual gives indicated it was bad,but like I said I got the same results until I replaced the ignitor.Good Luck!
