The latest project ....... yeah another one
I sold the CC Carryall 1 and pulled this "blank- canvas" out of the weeds. None of the pieces have been together as a unit ... what else is new with my builds 'eh? Just something I'm tinkering with right now. It's late 90's era Workhorse. Thinking of pulling the "Mongrel" Hyundai apart and sitting the frame back into the graveyard for awhile ....... then, savaging all the parts that can be used on this one ......... We'll see
Day 1 Workhorse rear section TXT Elec front section Out of the weeds and onto the trailer .. The beginning of introducing one frame-half to the other Day 2: ...... notched the frame and got it tacked together today and am looking for some stock (steel) to replace all of the frame pieces that the cancer has gotten to ....... not much cancer, but since it's this far down I might as well do it right. THEN I'll start looking for ideas to either replace these missing parts, or making new and different stuff or just adding **** that I find ...... Notched the frame Cut the excess off of the new frame rails Started sticking it together with the "North Florida squirrel-balls" welding technique :rotflmao: Flipped her over and did the same on the top-side And was done for the evening ... Been studying and haven't had the time to get back out there and play with this any more .......... It's cool, I'll have more time to think about it .. More later ....... |

Re: My NoName Workhorse project .......
I didn't take any pics of the front end repair the last pic shows it though. Flipped the spring perch to the top of the axle ... and replaced the ears on the axle, whatever the F you call 'em(where the king-pins slide through)king-pins, hubs, bearings .... a good weekend
Swapped brake backing plates and cable "holders"? Inspected and installed the rear-end ...... added bushings U-bolts and a set of 2 3/4" spring perches to put the springs on top of the rear axle. The cancer at the front bends at the lower frame .. and the repair Passenger side . Drivers side . I have some more pics but the end result of the last couple of days say more .... . . ...... more later |

So to lift your rear axle on this WH, you just used an existing axle, and basically
put the springs on top.. like about ten trucks I've done ?? Nice work btw, looks like it will be a nice one.. |

Lookin good Boris
Csason, That is correct. Ruredy gave complete instructions on how to do this in a thread. Search for Workhorse rear lift, or if Boris has it book marked he can post it. I dont have it on this computer |

I swapped the entire brake setup (backing plates/drums) right to left and visa versa.... it gave me the chance to pull the rear-end apart (the brakes anyway) and put an eyeball on it for future reference. That and I had to relocate the brake cable bracket to the bottom-side of the backing plate for clearance past the leafsprings. I'll see if I can run down that link to ruredy's thread ... Somebody else can probably tighten you up about lifting the front without cutting the existing spring perches off of the front-end and putting them up top. I didn't have any original parts to start with so I'm not sure of what you have there ......... and you'd have to do with your set-up. ....... It would probably be 2 extra plates and 8 bolts. I don't know if that will affect how the steering arms pass over the springs themselves though..... |
