Does driving the cart with welt belts hurt anything? I washed mine this morning and the belts were so wet, I could hardly get it to move into the garage. I just revved it until the belts warmed up and started to grab. Is that a bad thing?

The ONLY possible thing I could think of it doing would be over-revving the engine. And that's not doing much harm if only for a second or two. The water is just acting as a lubricant between the rubber belt and steel clutch faces.

My son wore the surface off a clutch in 1 winter driving thru deep snow and getting the belt wet. I would think if there were any sand mixed in with the water that things would wear out quickly.

I used to run my G9 through the creek all the time and let it rev and rev until it would take off. I wore the belt some but really didn't hurt anything. I'm sure if I continued everyday, it would eventually cause some problems.

I remember back before the Plowmans kit mine used to squeal and carry on when it got wet. Luckily after I put the Plowmans rear clutch on it will only rev for maybe a second or two and then its grabbing again...
I would think it would wear the belt out sooner than it should, but thats just my thinking. |

I've only had trouble after washing it. I had a lot of mud on the axle so I was aiming the pressure sprayer right on the belts to get all the mud off. I only had to move the cart 20 feet into the garage after washing and it sure didn't want to move.
I drove around in the snow on Thursday and didn't have any trouble with the belts slipping. |
