Default Battery Dies

I have a 2001 TXT and having trouble with the battery not being charged. The started works good. I have removed the green wire (DF) and checked voltage at the battery with no change. I removed the starter/generator and checked for grounded coils, brushes (which are good) and the armature for grounds. all were good. Changed the regulator with no change. I dont know what else to check. any help?

Your voltage regulator is bad...

I installed a new one and that did not help. Opened the generator again and checked everything by the book all looked and checked good.

Are you sure that your battery is good?

yes I can charge it and it will run for a couple of hours. The engine will die if you remove a battery cable while it is running
I've checked all the wiring for an open and they all check good. could it be the solenoid?

Take a grounded test lead and connect it to the green wire terminal on the generator it should put out max voltage (up tp 16v) when running..... this will tell if the generator is good.... you may have gotten a bad regulator?

The cart will not run with the battery removed. Don't have an answer for that on why, but it won't (EZGO)...

Tell me this. With the battery charged enough to start the cart and WHILE the engine is running, what voltage reading do you get at the battery + and -?

Scottyb, tried that disconnected the green wire and grounded the test lead to the battery neg side and the other lead to the DF terminal. very little voltage

USUALLY - if you're not reading 13.5 to 14.5 volts while running, you have a bad voltage regulator. You said you replaced yours already? Where did you buy it? Was it new? Used?
