Default Where to buy cv axle for ST 4x4

My neighbor owns what I believe is the ST 4x4 and he broke the left front cv axle. My question is: where does one buy parts for these things? Does anyone know if the axle cross-refrences to another one from an atv, side x side, etc.?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You will need to order though an OEM EZGO dealership.

Do you have the part number needed? Since the 4x4 was discontinued, I doubt if that part will be listed on the oem parts site...

The EZ-GO axle sells for over $300, if you can even find one. EZ-GO part number is 72847-G01. The inner joint and boot are the same as a 98 to 04 GEM NEV. The boot is sold separately, but I haven't found the joint separately. The boots are sold by various GEM suppliers such as NEV Accessories, part number GEM-HSBK-INNER, and cost $14. If you also need the inner joint and boot, purchase the GEM axle from NEV Accessories and remove the inner joint and use that to repair your EZ-GO axle. The first place I would look for the outer joint would be the Polaris Ranger and similar vehicles. The outer boot and joint are different than the GEM. How do you remove the axle from the front differential? Feels like there is a clip or something holding it on the shaft but I cannot tell. I was thinking of pulling the axle off the shaft with a slide hammer but I wanted to check first before I broke something expensive. The axle collar is very loose and wobbly on the differential shaft. Is this supposed to be that loose to move around with the movement of the suspension and steering? I found a service manual for another branded version of this machine but it has no info on removing the front CV axle.

The OEM part number for the driver's side axle is 602793. Any EZ-GO dealer can order ST 4X4 parts. The problem is availability. Textron has said that when stocks are depleted, no new parts will be available. Many parts are already unavailable, most noticeably the transmission. I had brake hoses custom made by Moto Heaven. Matched up a new ignition lock at NAPA. Rack boots are the same as Polaris Ranger. The list goes on and on. This thing is a true WHITE ELEPHANT! If the inner joint broke, you can use a complete inner joint and boot from a GEM. I am not sure what the outer joint matches up to. Some play is normal on these as they are held in place by a snap ring. The inner joint must be pried out of the differential.

Hi Ridgerunner14
I am going to quote to you from the book for How to replace a half shaft. Remove wheel. Remove the tie rod end. Tap off the control arm from the steering nuckle Remove half shaft using pry bar to seperate it from the front diff.
Yes it does have clip holding it on and you will see this when you have it removed. If you search on bay for ST 4x4 it will offer kits to rebuild the broken joint. They offer the inner and outer @ $118. each. I have to replace my outside front joint and this is probably the way I will go. I have removed the right half shaft on mine and it is not that hard. It will take pretty good pressure to pry it off.
