Default Painting Body - Bagwell Liner?

Well I finallly removed the body from my 2003 EZGO TXT and am getting it painted at a friend's body shop. I took off the bagwell liner and the fender protector caps on each side. Is there a reason to re-stall these or can I just have the holes filled and painted. I will be installing a rear seat so not sure if it matters. Any pros or cons?
Thanks

I removed the plastic fender guards & filled the holes. I have a metal body & used "steel putty". My neighbor did the same on his TXT w/ plastic body & used Bondo to fill the holes. If your friend has some extra Bondo, ask him to do it. Otherwise it's about $12 for a container. Kind of a waste for 8 little holes. The pics show before filled (blue) & after (primered).

That's a LOT of holes to fill AND a very hard part of the cart to paint to perfection. I'd replace the loner and save your hair and patience...

I put my bag well liner back in. Don't have to worry about ruining the paint now. But then, I didn't paint any lower than a couple of inches below the top of the liner.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will go ahead and put the liner in. I will talk to my friend about filling in the fender holes, which hopefully won't be a big deal.
