Hi crapieguy,
You didn't do anything really wrong, but take some time to look around. The answers are already in the forum. Do a search. Hillbillyhangover did one that i know of there is also a yamasuki and smasher is in the process right now with a raptor motor. I'm not much of fabricater myself so i'm not much help. Also try the big block section for stuff like this. And welcome to the forum, have fun

No you didn't. I too have asked questions only to get a "welcome" as opposed to an answer. Thanks for the kindness and all but either answer the question, provide a source to answer the question or stay out of the thread.

PS...no disrespect to Spriddle

Going with a chain drive is a good thing. It will leave you with alot of options for motors if yours ever kicks the bucket. Don't forget all the other stuff involved. It takes some time and creative thinking.
I myself have grafted a kawasaki bayou 300 into the cart using the whole rear frame. Most people set up the rear of a gas cart like yours. Either using the cart's axle and belt drive. Or set up a solid axle(like a go-cart) and build an engine cradle to pivot for the suspension. I've talked to "Rifter" on the site. He's got some good carts to look at. There's a few lurking around out there to get ideas from. But remember all the little stuff can be a hassle. Like making a shifter, and figuring up how to get a clutch. That's why so many go with a big block swap or a snowmobile engine swap. Those swaps are user-friendly if you could say so.
Well, I hope I gave you some insight. Before you cut anything... make sure you sit down and plan it all out on paper. Search youtube too. Rifter has his carts on there and there's some others on there.
