generater causing engine bog?
okay so ive been battling a bog in fwd / great running rev problem for a bit and thought id start a new thread. i have it on jack stands , the clutches look like they open the same in either direction and it revs out nice in rev. awesome compression on both. if my battery was low or had a dead cell or somthing like this.
Could the generater be working so hard that it would bog down my engine? (244 robin) the battery is pretty old so im hopeing it is something this easy. |

Re: generater causing engine bog?
have you check to see if maybe you have brakes dragging or hanging up?

You seem to have your mind made up already so I don't understand why you keep asking. People have told you some good advice and things to check but you just keep saying the same thing. At this point I don't see how anyone can help you. |

Re: generater causing engine bog?
simmer down ruredy, i couldnt get into work to get my meter until today..... remember christmas?. so any way i did test it and i have 15 volt in fwd and 16 volt in reverse, i was under the impression that it wouldnt be charging in reverse with a dc generater. so do these things charge in reverse? any way i will finally have it out of the shop tomorrow and on the trail for testing .
i started a new thread because im on a new topic, electrical. we went from comp, to brakes,to clutches, just trying to be specific and ask electrical questions. I know that you have a skull and a cross as a profile, symbalising a "tuff" persona, but im just trying to sift through this weird issue so that I can go have fun , the same goal as everyone else on this site. |

Whoops I think you need to think about this WE don't know about your tool stat and you have not responded to the other mechanical issues so it gets hard on this end, You are not the only one we are trying to help and you must know that we do take pride in helping. We are not paid to help you and you have to give us all the information so we can help.
A sharp tounge will not help. |

Re: generater causing engine bog?
i dont mean to be a dick. but i a use a $200 compression tester and people ask if my comp readings are right, and so on. this is an awesome site and i contribute to other similar sites in my own field. i am new to this small engine , 2 stroke, and gen/starter scenarios. there are some strong , smart contributers here. and like others i am quick to judge sometimes. we have to remember we are not trying to solve huge political issues, we are trying to help out a small community who happen to have the same interest (golf carts). sorry for upsetting , I have been on the other side of the table before and it was also frustrating. this is a cool hobby and it does take all personalities to contribute. I have much respect to people in any tech trade.

Still - Biting the hand that feeds is not the way around any "help" forum. 2 strokers are nearly 20 years old. There are so many potential issues with them that you're not going to get an instant answer, or figure it out completely in an afternoon...
