2000 EZGO Gas- won't go forward or backwards
I'm visiting my family for Christmas and my sister's EZGO has a problem. ------ MANUFACTURER CODE K300, SERIAL # 1219664. From what I can read here that makes it at 2000 TXT ---correct?
The cart had been running fine untill recently. Now the engine revs, the clutches operate, but the cart doesn't move. Moving the shift lever from forward to reverse does seem to operate/move the engagement point at the transaxle, but nothing is happening --- no go. The tires aren't spinning when the rear is jacked up in the air and the motor is accelerated. The axle is not turning within the wheel on either side, My brother in law said that the day the problem started he does recall that he got into the cart and stepped on the accelerator pedal. The cart reved, but did not move. He let off on the gas a little and then the transaxle engaged with a thump. The cart ran as usual. When he tried to go again - no go. I'm not at all familiar with EZGO - I own 2 Club Car Gas. Any help would be appreciated |

I'll bet you have a stripped rear brake drum on one side...

Should I mention that not all replacement drums are made equal? Go OEM on this one!!!

He says that the axle isn't turning inside the wheel. so does'nt that rule out the stripped drum?
