Default Early 80s Marathon belt or clutch?

Hey all, I am new to the cart mod world and need to ask a couple of questions that I am unable to lock down with a search.

First off I just bought a real clean 1980 Marathon 2 cycle ($160). It runs good and has 125 pounds of compression going both forwards and back, but still a little sluggish going up hills. I am going to run 22-23" tires on it so I know the problem will only get worse. I read enough to see that a 1" short beat might help and some folks talk about a 28 degree clutch so this leads me to my questions.

1. Where in the world can I get a 1" shorter belt? I believe my belt is 1-3/16 x 45".

2. Do they make a 28 degree driven clutch for my year/make marathon?

3. I've heard you can put in new ramp buttons to renew the driven clutch. I don't see these anywhere for my year/make cart. Does my cart even have these? If so where can I get a fresh set?

Thanks,
-Jason

Snowmobile belts will probably be your best bet, or these guys can help with you with machine work on your clutch, not to many parts available for the old 2 stroke carts, good luck

Thanks for your input bhfear.

It looks like cartpartplus.com does in fact machine any year of clutch for around $50 so that is a good option.

I did my research on belts and it looks like there's a couple of options for a 1" shorter belt for my year.

1. Most available is the 84-87 Honda Odyssey belt, but it is not quit an inch shorter (1-3/16" x 44-1/8") but close.

Here is one site, but found many!!
Webpage Link

2. It took some searching but I finally found an exactly 1" shorter belt used in some farming/tractor applications. Belt size 1-3/16" x 44"

Here's a couple of websites:

Webpage Link2

I have never changed a belt so maybe someone that knows more about belts can take a look at these and tell me if they would work?
