We remove half the disks, don't loose any performance and cut down on some of the sound. You'll need shorter screws if you want to run less than 8 disks (stock is 12).

Let me get this right... it is quiter when you took some of the spacers out???
I would like to get it a little quiter for when i take it to Havasu.

Yes - less disc's make it slightly quieter. You can remove 4 or 5 disc's using the bolts supplied in the original canister (they come with 12). We take ours down to 6 disc's. They still sound great, keep 98% of the power and are 75% quieter. BUT, to go below 8 disc's, you will need to get shorter stainless canister bolts.
