Default 1990 ezgo rebuild. Advise needed!

hello everyone,
Im new to the forum and posted these questions in the lifted cart section and only got 1 response. So I figured it was the wrong area to post so I will try here. My father has given me a 1990 ezgo cart. It is currently stock and very ugly. Mechanically it is good though. I would like to make it a capable cart for camping, hunting, running around my yard, and cruising around my dads 30 acres. What I had in mind was, lifting it, tires, tube bumpers, winch, paint, more power, and more speed. I have very little $$$$$(just bought a house). Paint will be done by me or my brother in-law as he owns a body shop. Tires I have laying around from quads and a winch I just purchased from harbor frieght(camo 3000lbs wireless). So I need some ideas for the remaining items. Has anyone fabricated a lift kit for a cart like mine? Has anyone made tube bumpers for the front and rear of there cart? Has anyone mounted a winch to the front tube bumper? Lastly, is there any tricks I can do in my garage to make the cart faster, and have more power? If not whats the best bang for my $$$$$? My other brother in law has a metal fab shop so Im hoping he can fabricate me bumpers, a lift, and the winch mount. I just need some advice and pics to help me along with my project. Thank you all for your time!

I think the problem is you want to do this with no money, most all of us have never been able to make that happen. The lift isn't that big of a deal, blocks lifts don't cost a lot and you can make them real cheap. There also a drop axle, a good fabber could make one out of your axle. You could just graft a quad front end on it.
it's harder to get a bunch of wheel turning horse power from that 244cc 2 stroke, bore it out as much as possible. It gets kinda pointless to go real far cause it has no timing advance, this limits the engine speed. best thing is to read what others have done and build on those ideas

I know i'm going to spend money, I just cant spend thousands on the cart, and when I spend money on performance upgrades I want to get the best bang for my buck. I cant afford to rebuild the motor or buy alot of performance bolt on pieces. Besides the cart used to be the security cart at my work and they recently rebuilt the motor before my father bought it from them(ding dongs never checked the oil and blew the motor 2 times). So basically at first I'm looking for smaller performance up grades that I can perform in my garage. For example is there a govener I can adjust or disconnect? Can I do something with the exhaust and intake for better air flow in and out? Any carb or clutch adjustments I can do to help? Fabricating the rest shouldn't be a promblem. Just looking for some performance tricks i guess.

yea, they knew where to poor the gas everytime, but never filled the 2 stroke oil and blew the motor. 1st time they rebuilt the motor, 2nd time they replaced it with another known good engine. Its sat for 5 yrs in my dads garage and didnt run or move. I drained the gas, checked the oil and after some cranking it fired up! Smoked the whole garage up but it ran great. ran it up and down the street to make sure it ran good. Now that I know its a good running machine I can put the time and some money into making the cart I want for my needs.
