Carburetor spewing gas.
I just lifted my 1990 ez go, and when I went to take it for a test drive, gas started shooting out of a little brass nipple sticking out of the top of the carb. I think this is the overflow? Not sure. I'm not much on carburetors. So whats goin on. This is a 2 cycle.

Re: Carburetor spewing gas.
The carb float has stuck or has a piece of crud in the needle valve and the float bowel is over flowing.

Re: Carburetor spewing gas.
Do not be afraid of the carb, if you want you take it off and take pics as you go and be careful not to rip or tear any gaskets you can clean and check one yourself. Figure 2 hours the first time, 20 minutes the second time.
The touchiest part is pulling the pin that the float is mounted on, use needle nose to grip it and support the leg it goes through. We can walk you through it. GOOD LUCK |

Re: Carburetor spewing gas.
How high did you lift it? If you inspected the float needle and seat very carefully for wear or damage and found none I would lean toward the float adjustment.
Kogie, can you explain the timing effect? |

Re: Carburetor spewing gas.
seems like you would have to have a monster lift to tilt the carb enough to flood. It's got to be dirt or a bad needle and seat. Good luck phisto

Re: Carburetor spewing gas.
Have you pulled a vaccum on the needle and seat to see if it is sealing the way it should? I have seen this on 2 and 4 stroke. The needle may appear to seal but a vacuum will tell the tale. I usually set my floats just above level.
