EZGO medalist 1998 gas need accessorie help
I buying a turquise blue ezgo 1998 medalist gas 4 stroke saturday and I was wondering what accessories to put on it.. (not intusted in lift kit big tires). whats it got on it... ezgo light kit, hubcaps, custom blue paint, top.
How do you make the engine have more power to climb hills?? Also i was wondering if medalist ezgo even goes up to year 1998???? Thanks, Nick |

Re: EZGO medalist 1998 gas need accessorie help
There are three quick things that come to mind. 1 Adjust the governor spring in to give your engine a little more speed on your approach to hills. 2 I would definitely suggest the 28 degree clutch. As I understand it this is the cheapest, best way to get low end torque and pick up for hills and pulling. 3 Find the suggested belt for the 28 degree clutch. The clutch uses a shorter belt that works hand in hand with the pulling clutch. Hope this gives you what you needed.

The shorter belt mentioned is for the earlier ezgo 2 stroke motor (not the 28 degree clutch as posted)..... wherever you buy your parts they will know which one you need OEM # 27077-G02
The belt change is the simplest cheapest upgrade there is .... |

Re: EZGO medalist 1998 gas need accessorie help
Personally, If I just picked up a cart, I would check it out front to back 100% (mostly for safety reasons) and do a basic tune up/maintainance on it, plugs, filters, oil change, grease zerks, check rearend oil and including compression test, blowing out the cooling fins and adjusting the valves just to give a baseline on what you are working with before any upgrades.
You may be supprised after this how well it runs. Edit: I'm sorry, Welcome to BGW!! keep us posted and don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have or use the search option above in the blue header. |

Thanks for catching me on that Scottyb. I have seen a few combo. kits here that provided a belt with the 28 degree clutch. I assumed it was somewhat shorter. My mistake.
