Same here two months ago, good people on this site. First what is the compression? If below 125, pull it out and check rings and the top end. My head bolts were loose. It only takes about one hour to pull the motor the first time. While you have it tore down, put in the crank seals, only about $3.00 each. I put in rings while I had it down. The spark could be weak. I had a HEI mod. from an old suburban and a coil from an old car and did the HEI conversion (no cost to me but about $35.00 if you have to buy parts). My cart now cranks and runs great.
