won't go into gear
My Marathon engine is running great. Problem is it all of sudden won't go into gear. When you rotate the FWD/REV lever it does trigger movement of parts in engine. So, in neutral things are great. We are entered in 4th of July parade and we are freakin' This red/white/blue limo cart must roll. Pls advise.

Re: won't go into gear
Follow the cable to a lever on the transaxle. Observe which direction the lever tries to move when you try to put it into forward gear, then try to help the lever into gear .... it may be a worn shift cable, but you may be able to run in the parade by manually putting it into gear and leaving it there?

Re: won't go into gear
Thanks, Scottyb. No luck. The cable rocks the cradle between fwd and rev well. It must be inside transaxle. Any hunch on repair/rebuild scenario?

Re: won't go into gear
Have you checked the hub to see if it is stripped. I have read that a few times on here. I believe it applies to the marathon. Not sure, but give it a look and see. Good Luck!!
