Part for 1990 Marathon differential
Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I am working on a basket case gas Marathon that I received from a relative. The differential was locked up and later taken apart. It was apparently run dry with no lubrication. I have one part in question that I cannot find on the CD service manual that I got off of ebay. Do any of you recognize this part and know where I can get a new one. It is bent pretty bad and I'd like to replace it. Thanks |

Looks like the actuator arm, part # 24630-G1. Thats what it shows in the manual for a 90 marathon 2 stroke if thats what you have. Not sure what it is for, I have a 88 marathon and I dont think it has one.

Re: Part for 1990 Marathon differential
I think I just learned something new..... I have never had to work on a 2 cycle Gas Marathon before (well not the rear of one.....). Did E-Z-GO use a modified Electric rear end for the Marathon models?

Re: Part for 1990 Marathon differential
Thanks ezrider,
It is in fact a 90 2 stroke. However, my CD manual shows a much different rear end. Theres a good possibility that I ordered the wrong service manual from ebay. I got one for the GX440/444. We also bought a new driven clutch for the cart as the old one had been broken. We plan to restore the cart and put a lift kit and tires on it. We're retiring to our favorite fishing hole in NE New Mexico and this will be used to cruise the neighborhood. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put this puzzle back together! |

Re: Part for 1990 Marathon differential
RIB,
That's the rear end for sure, thanks. Can I ask you what manual that picture is from? I can tell with all the helpful knowledge on this forum, I'm going to have a much easier, pleasurable time restoring this buggy! |
