18hp Vanguard from lawnmower
Know a fella that has a lawnmower with an 18hp Vanguard that is blown. Would it be worth the time and effort to put in on this engine (if it would even work - not sure if this particular engine would work in a cart)?

Re: 18hp Vanguard from lawnmower
It has to be a horizontal shaft engine or(side shaft engine), If the shaft goes out the bottom you can't use it.

90% of all lawnmowers will be vertical shaft.

Re: 18hp Vanguard from lawnmower
Gotcha!
I'll have to check it out. I know this is a stupid question without having any info to go on, as to what is actually wrong with it, but it is worth the time and effort? I mean, by the time you buy all the other crap to convert it to the cart, plus the money put in the engine fixing whatever. I guess I just answered my own question again, huh? |

Re: 18hp Vanguard from lawnmower
but just think, a 18hp Vertical mower engine in a cart, imagine the grass you could cut
Brian Guess you'd need a nother motor though to move it |
