Re: need marathon reed valve block
I had the same problem. I bought a reed valve assembly from a Yahama DT-1 250 bike. It has the same vertical spacing but the horizontal spacing is too wide. I used a round file and filed the holes until they lined up with the intake manifold. I put it on the cart and she fired right up.
I chose the DT-1 because it has bolt pattern of the Robin unit and has only 2 reed petals and visually has more space (room to adjust as needed) between the bolt holes and the reed cage body than the units with three petals. The units with three petals the cage looks wider and may not fit into the jug of the engine. I have been using this modified setup a short time with no problems. |
