Default 1986 EZ GO engine swap

OK so I am a little pissed. I spent $400 on a rebuild kit for my 2PG and it runs fine but I am now discovering what an irritant the noise of a 2 cycle is. Then in another thread on this forum I see this engine which supposedly will fit into an EZGO

Now I would much rather have this so here are my questions,

Has anyone done this to an 80's EZGO?
Does the clutch fit right on the shaft?
Does it turn in the right direction? (BTW I know there will be no reverse and I don't care).
How did you adapt the starting, the cart's starter is engaged all the time the throttle is depressed via the solenoid. I am sure that this engine will not thank you for doing that.
Is there a market for lovingly rebuilt 2PG with a brand new carburetter

Hi Dave, a 2 stroke starts backwards for reverse and starts forward for forward, a 4 stroke shifts from forward to reverse in the rear end, I think if you put a 4 stroke in it you will not have reverse, unless you change rear ends.

Gotta say I find 2 stroke and single cylinder 4 strokes rank the same in annoyance.

Go twin or run what ya got.
