Default gas leakage

there is a gas line coming off the carb next to the line coming from the fuel pump. there is a good amount of gas coming out of it. why would there be a lot of gas coming out of it?

I would say you float is not set rite or the needle valve is getting stuck, thats a over flow line

this line comes out of the side of the carb and just hangs down and there is nothing hooked to it rite???

is the cart running good, or does it run like ^%&* when the gas is flowing out of the line??

Back in the good old days of motorcycling sometimes this would happen, on occasion, a sharp tap with a screwdriver handle to the float bowl would get it fixed but if it indeed your float or needle at fault it is a pretty simple thing to get to and repair properly.

Having the same problem with a friends of mine. Took the carb. apart, the float is plastic, and can not be adjusted. What do you do in this situation? Car is lifted, and wondering if that is messing up float level?
Also, how do you remove sec. clutch? Any tricks after removing center bolt?

There are two possibilities. If gas is coming out of the overflow all the time then the float is punctured and has sunk. If the gas leak is intermittant then you might have some dirt in the needle valve or bowl. In either case you need to remove the carburetter, drain whatever fuel is in there, turn it upside down and remove the bowl. Now you can inspect the float mechanism. Gently pull out the pin that forms the hinge for the float and remove the float. Now carefully remove the small needle valve that shuts off the fuel. Inspect the float for pinhole punctures and clean it all up. Does the float feel full of fuel? If not reassemble. Now if you like the taste of gas (and who doesn't) turn the carburetter upside down so that the float is pressing on the valve and blow into the fuel inlet. You should not feel air movement. Now turn the carb the right way around and blow. You now should be able to feel the air move past the now open valve.
This would be a good time to remove and clean the main jet and the main nozzle.
Carefully reassemble ensuring that you do not pinch the gasket between the carb and the bowl.

Yes the right side nut is well hidden but you can do it your options are
1) Buy a small 11 mm open ended wrench
2) Torch it for the insurance
3) Sell it to me. I see from an earlier thread that you put a new belt on so I was going to offer you $37.50 but then I noted you fitted the wrong belt so shall we say $20?

PS I recommend option 1.
