Default Starts first time then wont till cooldown

I have a gas ezgo that will start the first time or two till it gets hot. Actually, it depends on how long you drive it. It take 5 to 10 minutes to cool down b4 it will start again. The solenoid is new. It will start by jumping the solenoid posts so I doubt it's the starter brushes. The solenoid will get hot while it's running. I left the key on while the engine was off and it did not get hot then. Is there a switch that is suppose to disengage the solenoid after the motor starts? Or maybe the key switch is wired wrong? Thanks in advance. Joe

are you sure it's the correct type of solenoid? There are 2 types (and they both look basically the same) but one is designed to disengage when the motor starts (common for snowplow applications, etc) ... If you're running a standard type, anytime the gas pedal is pressed the solenois will be engaged, which would definitely overheat it

Thanks for the attempt to help, but it looks like it's something else. I just changed out the solenoid and it still wont re-start after just a couple minutes of running. Seems like there should be another switch or sensor that tells the solenoid to disengage. I guess I could find a wiring diagram and trace it all out. Maybe whoever worked on it last might have mis-wired it. but I'm still open to suggestions. Thanks.
