Default 28 degree driven clutch question help!!!

Ok i purchased a 28 deg driven clutch cam and new buttons but im not sure which way i am supposed to torque the spring. I have the spring in the middle setting but which way do i add 120 degrees of torque to the spring? Do i turn it the way that makes the spring diameter smaller or larger? Please help i want to get this thing back together and go ride

You want to load the spring, as in compress it. Pre-loading it puts pressure on the sheave for balanced shifting up and down. A word of advice if you are doing this by hand, 120 deg. of preloaded spring and aluminum can be harmful to your health so be careful. You should be making the spring smaller ( loading ) the spring..
