Tire keeps coming off rim
I re-seat the bead, blow it up. It last about a week and drops air to the point of un-seating the bead. I put the tire underwater but can't find any leaks.
Will rusted rim cause this. I am going to try and clean it up with steel wool. Also would slime seal a bead leak? |

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
I didn't have very good luck using slime on my golf cart tire. As a matter of fact, I didn't have very good luck with slime, fix-a-flat, or standard tire plugs on mine.

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
Are you inflating them enough? My tires needed to be taken to 35 psi to seat them and then of course deflated to the correct pressure. I agree with Santacruzslick, that Slime seems to be a waste of time and money.

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
If they are rusted really bad you can try bead sealer it works great for leaking rims. Use a wire wheel or bead blast them then use the bead sealant.
Link to bead sealant http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/Pro...SKU=2147002499 That slime /fixaflat crap is just that crap. maybe works in a pinch but understand its not that great for the tires never mind the mess when you take them off. Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
Slime worked on one of my rear tires that kept leaking around the bead. It will make a mess when the tire is removed. Clean the tire and rim and try a bead of cilicone. Good luck.

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
The ATV Slime works good, used it in my cart and my zero-turn(also has atv-style tires).Like posted earlier, make sure the beads are clean and also no tears in the bead of the tire.If the tire is damaged in the bead(a small rip or flapping section)A tube will be the answer or replace the tire.If the rim is pitted,wire-brush it as good as you can,get any flake-rust off and use a rubber bead-sealer(black brush-on)type sealer.Hope this helps.

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
Put a tube in it if the rim is really bad.Steel wool won't clean it up good enough. You need to wire wheel it until it's really clean. When you check for leaks don't forget the valve stem.Last, all that sealer stuff in garbage.Just fix the problem right and forget about it...

Re: Tire keeps coming off rim
I had the same problem with tires going flat and of thr rim. The tires are in great condition just kept going flat. I whent and put tubes in all four tires and have not had a problem with them going flat any more.
