Default MCI Engine Identification

I just purchased what has been identified as a 2006 EZGO TXT (SN: 2474663)with what appears to be an "MCI" engine (SN: 1059597) - although it was advertised as a 2007. During my learning process, 99% from this web site, I've used Bob-O's 2007 posting on EZGO Cart Maintenance to get some pretty good performance improvements. It was here I discovered the reference to the MCI engine and carb recall requirement. How do I know if the recall requirement has been met for this cart?

Bob-O's reference:

For 2004- Present Cars (With Carb Recall Kit for MCI Engine):

Use NGK Brand FR2A Spark Plugs. Gap them at .035".
Use Air Cleaner Element #28463-G01 (Round Air Canister).

**MCI ENGINE Identification **

You will know if yours is an MCI Engine by the round air filter. If the kit has not been installed, one will need to be installed as soon as possible. Contact your local E-Z-GO dealer to have the Recall Kit installed at no charge.

You can also tell if you have a MCI Engine by the exhaust manifold. The MCI engine's exhaust manifold is built onto the engine. You will have a single exhaust pipe joining with the Muffler.

Default Re: MCI Engine Identification

try calling ezgo with your serial number and see if they can tell ya. if your cart was on a golf (i kno this is a bad word on this forum) course more than likely it was done. I knew about the carb recall but have never done one.
