poor running 98 ezgo
I am totally new to this and I hope all of you can help me out. I have a 98 EzGo gas cart which I have installed Jake's 5" drop axle, 10" tires and wheels. Last year installed Buggies unlimited heavy duty clutch springs for torque to help pull deer out of the woods. The carb has the big jet and I have a K&N filter.
I have read the forum on adjusting the governor to get alittle more speed and by doing so ran into some trouble. I adjusted the spring 1/4" tighter and I believe it was hitting the rev limiter. I then proceeded to back it off back to the stock setting and it still acts like the engine is hitting the rev limiter. I have read some people tightening the governor spring all the way down and getting away with it. Just want alittle more speed. Has anybody had a rev limiter "igintor" go bad? Thanks for any help at all! |

Re: poor running 98 ezgo
If your hitting the limiter quickly then check your clutches they may be engaging slowly or not all the way.

Re: poor running 98 ezgo
Thanks for the reply I will check into that. I know when I bought the heavy duty clutches they were designed to open slower so the cart could build torque without sacarficing engine power. That way you have all this torque ready for you at idle. Maybe my driven clutch isn't opening up enough...
