Default Any ideas before i rip it apart?

Hey all....new guy here. Iv got a ezgo with the 295 engine. Im told its an 03 model. Iv yet to check to id numbers to be sure. anyway its got low compresion on one side. I was just gonna yank to motor and go through it but then i found this forum and thought id ask if theres any common issues with these motors that would cause my low compression and maybe i could fix without pullin the motor..

Thanks

Since i posted, iv been reading around here a bit and it seems that valve lash is an issue with these.I will check mine and cross my fingers. it would be sweet if thats all it is. I bought it cheap cuz i convinced the guy the rings were bad. Next chore....lift kit!!

If the cart runs and doesn't smoke, then I'll bet she just needs the valves set correctly. What is the compression in each cylinder? Oh - we set valves at .004".

I do have a follow up question though. If my intake valve lash has tightened up doesnt that mean that my valve seats have sunk and shouldnt i be pulling the head to replace them?
