Hello, I am having trouble controlling my cart. It goes fast at top speed and there is no problem but in slow speeds, it jerks and does not run smooth. I have adjusted the govenor making the spring completely tight and i have loosened it completely and there is no change in speed of the cart or the ability to control the speed. I like the speed of the cart but I need to be able to run it slow and controlled.

Ruredy has a good thread on governor adjustments - you should read that for reference. Also check to see if your carb butterfly is closing all the way. There is a stop screw that stops the butterfly on the carb (drivers side), make sure it is adjusted to close all the way.

Haven't had time to work on the cart but hopefully in the next couple of days I can check it out.

Also,,,,The shorter belt mod helps bunches with getting slow speed driving under control.

Hello, OK I looked at the engine and the rod across the engine did not have a joint in if but I extended and shortened it and there was no noticable difference in the control. I only extended the rod 1/4 inch, was this enough?
[IMG] [/IMG]I also looked at the carb butterfly and when I pulled the choke it closed all the way. but this is probably not what you are talking about (I really know absolutely nothing). I did tighten the governor and loosen it with no results. [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]And about the belt, I can grab it and pull it right off. I am thinking of getting the shorter belt but I want to be sure that it is the problem.I also have other problems with keeping it charged but I wll work on those later. |

I had to lengthen mine, as I said, mine was jointed in the middle and I adjusted it a little
longer so it drooped a little in the middle and it stopped surging at low speed, is yours surging (like your on and off the peddle even though your holding the peddle steady) ? |

Might want to try taking it off on one end and adjust
it so it just slips back on without moving the levers. |
