89 ez-go compression question
Hello all I have an 89 EZ-GO I just rechecked compression it has 130 psi is this about right the cart seems to be under powered it wont spin tires in the snow even my other 89 was twice the cart this one is and it only had 85 PSI of compression I even upgraded the ignition to dura spark 2 and this was an improvement over stock this is the very ignition I used on my other 89 until the piston broke due to having to much slop in the cylinder I even put the carb on from my other 89 no improvement I tryed a new carb and it was worse with the new carb it didnt have a air fuel adjusting needle at all it was plugged with a brass pin
well any help or advice will be appreciated thanks in advance turbopower |

Re: 89 ez-go compression question
There are two suspects. The first is an air leak somewhere and the second is a partially blocked muffler. Why not start with the easy option. Undo the bolts between the muffler and the exhaust pipe to create a half inch gap. Now take the cart for a run. If it is better we need to roast the muffler. If not we need to look further.
