Loctite for exhaust on ST Sport
F-N nuts keep backing off on the exhaust at the head. Is it ok to use the loctite red for this application? It's the 350cc 4 stroke. Thanks

Do they have lockwashers under them? If not give those a try...

Re: Loctite for exhaust on ST Sport
I read that the loctite red has to be heated to 500 degrees to be removed. May be a little difficult to take off later. Lock washers aren't working. What else is there? I've looked at serrated lock washers. Anybody knows if that works? Heck they are cheap. I think I'll just go to the local hardware store and buy several different types and give them a try.

Re: Loctite for exhaust on ST Sport
Is the muffler mounted properly and tight where the support brackets are? If those arent tight or arent properly secured this might cause a vibration which could loosen the nuts.

The bottom mount bolt for the muffler was broken and had to be drilled out. It's snug now. I will just give the serrated lock washers a try. If that don't work I will !

Re: Loctite for exhaust on ST Sport
I have also had some issues with this problem, I started installing studds in manifold and them flat an lock washers and that seemed to have stopped them from working loose. Also like has been said be sure both support bolts are holding tight.
