Something I Have Noticed About BGW.com
Hey all!
Now, i dont want anyone to think i am being an A$$ here, but i have read ALOT of threads on this site, and have seen alot of "Old Cart Bashing". I have read MANY threads when new people get on here to ask a question about there "New to them" 1980's Marathon, and alot of people have told them to trash it and find a new one. In my opinion, that is kinda mean. I have a 1982 and a 1989, and i LOVE THEM! I know of ALOT of people on here that have the old Marathons! What is wrong with that? If i want to dump $5000.00 in my old piece of junk 3 wheeled cart, that is my choice, right? I just think this site was created to help people, not hurt them. My uncle has an old Nova that he has invested 10's of thousands of dollars into, and that is his choice, not anyone else, RIGHT?? Just my $0.02, and i hope i didnt offend anyone, i just want to see more people enjoy what they have to work with, just like i have.~~With the help from you fine people!~~ Jon |

Re: Something I Have Noticed About BGW.com
I think you miss the point that SOME posts like that are tonque-in-cheek. It's not that folks here don't support that effort, it's more of a fact that the parts and mods just aren't as available as they are for the TXT and later carts. It's hard to offer advice on older carts when you don't own one or aren't familiar with them. It's not like we're all ex-course mechanics and have gone through the seventies and eighties working on these things. It's a perspective issue, not a disrespect issue. My .02

Nah, you wont offend anyone. The deal is, we've done these thins in the past and eventually find out it s not worth it for whatever reasons. If your building to keep then go for it, I dumped around 4k into a 3 wheeler....ended up scrapping it. Its the experience coming from the
experienced people who have done it before. |

Theres nothing wrong with the Marathon, what happens a lot of time is someone digs one out, the frame rails are rusted, batt trays are rusted and need a motor.....yes, your better off finding a new one.

Chevy, im glad to see you taking care of your cart, but WTF is up with you wearing a skirt!! J/K!! It is because you are a sparky and i m a gasser! A love hate relationship!! HAHAHAHAHA
Roady, i hear what you are saying, and i agree! If someone is keeping it, is doesnt matter what they spend on it, it is just for the fun. But if they are wanting to sell it, they dont want to be UPSIDE DOWN in it!!! Jon |

Hey Jon, to each his own. We raise Appaloosa horses. They ain't the most popular or the most known, but we still love em and raise em. The same with the carts. I'm with you man!

Re: Something I Have Noticed About BGW.com
At the risk of offending everyone i'm gonna tell you why I prefer today's DC electric carts to yesterday's 80s technology... Today's carts are better. Today's cars are better. Today's Televisions and telephones are better. Today's cameras are better and today's homemade pies are ..... well, somethings just couldn't be improved upon
