Default 2006 ST Sport Axle Replacement

Hey guys, I just picked up another cart a month or so ago. I am in the process of fixing a few things, upgrading wheels/tires and I noticed that all fo the vibration from the old worn out stock tires didn't go away with the new set. Ig ot to look with it up on a jack and the passenger side rear axle doesn't rotate evenly. I am guessing it's bent from an impact from the previous owner.

At any rate I was wondering if this is something a shadetree mechanic should tackle or take it to a shop? special tools needed, etc?

Thanks for your help.

That is a fairly simple job. You will need to remove the drum and re-torque it to 75-140 Ft pounds when done.
You will need snap ring pliers to remove the axle keeper. Maybe a slide hammer to attach to the axle threads for removal.
I have heard of putting the drum on backwards and using it as a slide hammer but, I always had the slide hammer so I can't speak for this....
You will need a solid vise to install a new bearing on the new axle ... and put a new seal in the axle tube.... hope this helps you decide.

A basic Ezgo axle bearing and seal diagram would help too......
