Why don't you post pictures of the loose wires and we can tell you where they go.

Well it's hard to see what you are describing but the parts you show look corroded. I would recommend that you check all he ground points and clean them up. Make sure there is a ground strap between the frame and the engine. If you go to this thread
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...ce-manual.html
you will see the manual. It is not specific to 1983 but not a lot changed so it will show you what you need to know.

Do you mean "IDLE" ????? If so they are not suppose to idle, they shut off when you take your foot off the gas pedal.

thanks for all the replies.
i have more questions.
perhaps a phone number would be useful.
if i could call someone to help me out.
My accelartor switch is ripped off.
Can someone tell me where I can find it.
Picutres would help with where the accelartor switch is located.
I have to pump gas pedal to keep the engine running, when I remove foot from gas pedal the engine shuts off.
I put brand new carbuerator and still the same problem occurs.

Thank you so much,
Alex.

Alex, the engine should shut off when ya take your foot off the pedal so the switch must be there. P.S. do'nt spend to much money before going through forums
