How to speed up 2008 EZGO TXT gas cart
I just bought a couple of 2008 EZGO TXT gas carts. They seem alot slower than my pds cart with speed chip. What can I do to speed up these carts.

Try the tech section at the top of the gas section. It will give you instructions on how to adjust your governor, and lots of other stuff.

Re: How to speed up 2008 EZGO TXT gas cart
I read through there, just didn't see anything I thought would help. I saw the thread about the older governors on differential. I was told by the dealership that this adjustment on mine is on the engine below a black cover on top. Was that wrong?

I'm not sure. I see that thread was dated prior to your cart, so the information may not work for you.
Hang on and I'm sure someone with more knowledge will step in to help you. |

Engine should have a plate on it with a model number. Are your clutches/drivebelt on the drivers or passengers side of the cart?

Re: How to speed up 2008 EZGO TXT gas cart
I'm almost 100% positive the governor is on top of the rear axle under a protective plate that's riveted on just like in the sticky. I have an 08 St Sport 2 with the subaru, and that's where my governor is. Just take the cover off and tighten the nut up to compress the spring. Go little by little until it's fast enough for you. Simple, quick, and easy. Mine went from 11mph to 21-22 with my stock tires. This is the easiest performance gain. If you do this, I'd change oil in both with Mobil-1 Synthetic to protect the motor from the higher rpms it'll be turning.
