Re: 85 Ez-Go Wont Go
possibly a clogged air filter? sounds like you've tried everything else. either that or one of your clutches might not be engaging if it will run but not move...

Re: 85 Ez-Go Wont Go
Have you gone thru the carb?If its' gummed up,it won't make any power.Pull the float-bowl off, remove the main-jet and see if its' plugged. Also remove the float and needle and make sure the inlet is clear. Some carts are very fussy about the choke.Mine needs full choke to fire cold, unless its' in the upper 60's or better, then you turn it off as soon as it fires and its' all good after that.Hope this helps.

Carb Was cleaned thru out, new air filter also, still not enough RPM to get it to move on ground. Will move while up on jack stands, but not very fast!

I have traveled the same road. Stop wasting your time and buy a new carburetor. For $99 you will end up with a car that runs like a sewing machine.

Just throwing this out there as it seems you have covered most of the bases.
Who rebuilt the engine? Is the piston in correct? Is the governor hooked up and or adjusted correct? |

Re: 85 Ez-Go Wont Go
Actually Cheezygo makes a good point. You have the exact symptoms of a piston in backwards. If there is any doubt in your mind I would pull the exhaust pipe and look into the cylinder with a flashlight. Rotate the engine and hope that you do not see the port in the piston skirt.
