Thumbs up ezgo electric to gas conversion

I have just bought electric ezgo cart (don't know where to find out year) I want to convert to gas. Any body done it and how easy?
Secondly I am in Australia where trying to find out anything about golf buggies and getting parts is almost impossible. Anyone out there willing to post parts to Australia for me. Obviously I will pick up all costs. I am chasing gas engine (running or not but complete) lift kit, tires, rims light kit etc.

Looks like I got here first. I haven't looked at the required parts but anyone on this forum will say it is to hard and too costly. you are better off selling your electric and buying a gas.

The best bet is to find a "donor-cart" that is wrecked,damaged,etc.. otherwise you will spend more money than you want to think about, unless you are going to go with a non-stock power-plant such as a Briggs or Honda. Then you need to find a 4-stroke transaxle, and you can build the rest from there with a conversion kit or build everything yourself.Shipping the stuff in from elsewhere will definitely put the project in financial ruin quickly.Hope this helps.

John, They are right. You will need to find a rear end with a reverse gear built in. They are found on four stroke models. An after market engine would be the best way to go. We use the Briggs, or Duromax or Carol Stream engines a lot here. I think you have a blue engine honda clone down there that is like the duromax here. I used it and love it. If you have a place like surplus center down there you can find a rear end. If not check out the surplus center site.https://www.surpluscenter.com/home.asp With this pair you could do the change over here for about $800 plus miscellaneous stuff.

Thanks guys, so I need to change rear end. Will this give reverse? Very hard to get donor carts as the price down here is prohibitive. Looking minimum $2500 Australian dollars at least for a wreck. What HP are the back axles able to take as I was thinking maybe a 250cc twin bike engine ? Thanks guys. Also remember if anyone is willing to source parts and ship we can talk as I know Aussie dollar is strong at the moment. Cheers guys

John, the rear ends are usually rated for about 20-30 HP. Most of them are listed as have reverse. They are used often by guys putting in bike or snowmobile engines. Check out the surplus center site you should be able to order direct from them with them handling shipping.
