Default Can a 350 replace a 295?

my 295 has running problems, basically low compression. I want to replace my 295 engine in my 1998 txt with a rebuilt 350. Will it bolt right in and can i use the 295 clutches, carb, exhaust etc? As you can tell i'm new to carts and would like some advice. thanks~

The clutch, exhaust & mounting bolt pattern are the same, the carb will fit but it is jetted different so I don't know how much difference that will make;maybe one of the carb specialists will be along shortly.

Hello,

As i read it somewhere before, the only thing is rejetting the carb.

BUT:
They have to be the same engine type so MCI to MCI and non MCI to non MCI.
(Differences in manifold and lubrication)

the 350 jet is bigger. you can run a 350 with a 295 carb it will will run leaner. i usually run 350 carbs on 295, due to they run sooooo much better.

just swap with your like engine like stated. Check with your builder since there will be a core charge. some charge you more since you buy a 350 and return a 295. 350 are harder to come by.

In what way do the 350 carbs run better?

350 carb on a 295 engine. To me the run so much better in the upper RPM. The 350cc jet is slightly bigger, so no leaning out in upper RPM.

For a stock motor, will you see any difference with going with that carb? Also, is it a different carb or just bigger jets?

its a slightly bigger jet. The bore of carb is the same.

I put 350 carbs on stock 295 all the time. The EZGO 350 carbs (i buy) are cheaper than a 295 carb, go figure, thats one reason I do that.

So do they sell a "jet" kit for the 295 carb or what is the solution for upgrading without having to buy the carb?
