Jacobsen gas cart T1000
hello, i have a gas 2 cycle Jacobsen cart. the only numbers i can find are the serial number on the dash area, it is 84001 1794 i called jacobsen and they told me it (may be) a Jacobsen T1000 truck, he also told me they dont have parts for it anymore, that i would have to cross them over to ezgo part numbers but he was'nt able to help me with that either... it has the steel diamond plate manual dump bed. they said it was made by ezgo, that makes since because the plastic gas tank has an ezgo tag on it... i also called ezgo to try to see if they could tell me what their name and model for the cart was so i can find parts for an ezgo model.. they could'nt find it either. can anyone help me id the ezgo model that matches or "is the same" as a jacobsen T1000 truck? i dont know the year or what brand of motor is has either... i thought from the last numbers of the ser. # that it may be a 1994 year or from the first numers it could be a 1984 year model but the guy at jacobsen told me it was'nt either year... does anybody else on here have a jacobsen T1000??

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
If it is a 2 stroke and related to EZGO it should be a Robin engine, the only confusion should be if it is a 2PG or a 3PG engine. There should be a tag on the engine near the spark plug denoting the year and model number. Failing that why not post some photographs of the engine and cart.

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
ok, ill try to get some pics up this weekend. also i was looking at a carb parts list for a t1000 and i notice it shows a govenor cable that hooks up to the same linkage as the gas pedal, my cart is missing the govenor i guess? i only have 2 cables on the carb...the gas and choke, where is the govenor located? do i even need it? also my cart looks like the one posted execpt the front nose of the body on mine is plastic or fiberglass and the rest is steel. is the gxt800 suppose to be the same as the t1000... im still not sure what i have...lol

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
The governor cable goes to a lever which is operated by the driven clutch expanding, when it gets to a certain point it will pull the throttle closed which is why you need to have a spring on the carburetor arm.
My cart is driven only by myself and my wife so I dispensed with the whole assembly. However if the cart was to be driven by children / strangers / drunken friends then I would hook it back up. Dave |

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
don't know if the gxt is the same as the t1000, but sounds like it. ez didn't come out with a plastic front until the txt, which is later. the fronts are easily swapped on the 94s to a plastic one. if yours is a 2stroke does it look like this, with the muffler lying down? if it is , then it is a 3pg which was used on ez-gos from 89 until about 94. do you have pics of your machine and engine? would help

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
ok correction, sorry guys it does have a steel front end. its just smooth steel painted white , not diamond plate like the sides and bed. thats why i thought it was plastic. the muffler stands upright. (i have it off right now because the 2 5/16 bolt holes that hold it on the motor are stripped and it keeps vibrateing lose. im thinking about tapping it out to 3/8 16 grade 8 bolts... yall think thats a good/best idea? heres some pics if i can get them to load. maybe you guys can tell me what model cart i have and what motor

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
you can see from the last pics it no longer has a govenor or linkage and theres a small hole and cracks on the driven clutch it looks almost like its been melted? or just bent you can see a bolt head in the hole... will not havein a govenor hurt anything as far as the clutch/motor or will it just make it go faster?

Re: Jacobsen gas cart T1000
i still think that is called a gtx800. that is not a 94, but sure could be an 84. same running gear as a marathon, except some components like the springs are hd. we have another 800 in the weeds that is identical except it has the dp frt end. since yours is smooth, i bet it has been swapped out for a marathon one. dave can give you more info on the 2pg engine you have.
these make great little utility carts. here are some other 800s. |
