Default 94 EZGO Rebuild not going well

1994 EZGO gas. I am in the middle of trying to rebuild the upper engine in my EZGO. I went as far as to buy an EZGO rebuild manual for my cart. However when I get to the part where I am supposed to remove the timing belt cover, I discover that I cannot get it out of the way with the drive clutch in the way. I tried to remove the bolt that holds on the clutch, but the bolt is stuck. Anybody have any tricks that may make this easier? Also, what is the best way to hold the clutch from spinning while trying to loosen this bolt?

Even if I can get the bolt to loosen, will I be able to remove or slide the clutch out enough to help without a special tool for this?

Any hints would be helpful...

Not to sound like I am saying something stupid like "did you put gas in it" but as a word of caution:

Make sure you know whether the bolt is right or left handed thread!

I learned that lesson the hard way! Trust me it is no fun removing a broken bolt from the crankshaft especially when it was broken do to thrashing into it.

the bolt is standard thread. Lefty loosey Righty tighty.

I use a 3/8 air impact when i remove them. There is a special tool that is used to remove them. I also use my impact for that. I am pretty sure there are ways to get it off with out the tool.

If you dont have air you can use channel lock on the center of the clutch as long as you have belt b/t the channel locks and clutch. This way you wont damage the clutch. Basically you will sandwich the belt inbetween the clutch and channel locks. Hold tight and go for it.

I think you need air or an electric impact to remove the clutch using the OEM puller. I don't see any good alternatives?

And if there is Loctite in it, use a ???airheater??? to loosen the Loctite.
An airtool is the only way.

Do not get the sparkplugs out and stop the pistons that way.
A little to much and your cranck is gone / or only bent....
