Default Voltage Regulator Polarity?

I just bought a new voltage regulator for my ezgo marathon as that is what the shop it is at says it needs. But they have a question that i didnt know the answer too. Does anyone know if you have to polarize the voltage regulators in these carts? and if you do does anyone have instructions on which terminals you have to jump to do it? Thanks for any info!

How can they determine you need a VR if they don't know how it works or how to install it?

Don't have to polarize the VR, it's some of the old style generators that needed that but not since the sixties.

They new it was the voltage regulator, just didn't know if it needed to be polarized. He said a lot of the box style regulators needed that done. But we are all set and I am pretty sure its finally fixed!
