Default Att. ezgo owners

If you ever decide to rebuild your 295cc robin engine, Use some kind of assembly lube. If you do not, this is what will happen. You probably could here me yelling from were you live on friday night. I siezed the connecting rod to the cramk. Now I'm not really to sure what to do next? Here are some pics. This was not a good day

thanks Collin

Hello Frogger,

Nice, nice....
Do i see it right, that there are no bearings in the rods?
In my raceengine there are, how do i say it, plates between the rod and the cranck.
They are made from a mixture of kopper and ???? .
When the kopper comes through, they need replacement.

Onley, for a couple of weeks, i had my broken cranck to, but that was a not good hardened cranck.
(Harder as a stock one, they are almost black)
It broke just in the middle of a rodbearing.
It did still 7000 revs, but the 30 HP were gone.....
I think i had much much luck in that not tearing the whole engine down....
A new cranck and steel rods will do it for the next couple of .......(years i hope)

Frogger, the crank can be cleaned up and reused, the rods will need replaced. don't feel to bad, there lots of people who make mistakes when building these engine. most won't admit it and blame other causes if it doesn't work right.

No there is no bearings on this engine..
If I can reuse the crank that will be good,The new rods are not to much.
I'll take the crank out this weekend and take a look at it..

Hello Frogger and others,

I put some pics of those bearings in my album.

A good engineshop can build them in, so your engine has better weapens to hold higher revs.
They build them in in the stock rod's, onley the eye is made bigger.
These are from my former aircooled and did more than 300 hours of racing with 25HP.
They now are worn out, see the bronze coming throug the surface.
